In England Hospital
Lt. Francis Herbert, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Garrot Herbert, of Lexington, is in a hospital in England recovering from wounds received in combat in Germany November 22. It stated he had suffered an arm injury.
This news was contained in a cablegram to Mrs. Herbert, the former Martha Brandon, of Como, Wednesday.
Prior to that they had received a telegram from the War Department this week stating he had been "slightly wounded" in action in Germany on November 22 and further details would be forthcoming as soon as possible.
Lt. Herbert was a member of the 120th Regiment of the famed 30th Division which, according to reports, spearheaded the drive into Germany.
Going overseas in July, Lt. Herbert has seen action in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
He has been in service over a year and in the state was stationed at Fort Benning, Ga., and Camp Wheeler, Ga.
Mrs. Herbert is a student at Smith College in Northampton, Mass. They were married last spring.
