EXPECT CUT IN WPA ROLLS ADMINISTRATOR SCHRODER SAYS STATE OVERDUE FOR REDUCTIONS

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Mar. 27 (FNS).—Roy Schroder, State WPA Administrator, said this week that Florida rolls may be drastically reduced by April 1.

Florida, he said, is overdue for a reduction, and he expects word from Washington to cut the rolls any day. The state has been permitted to retain a great many workers because of the many outstanding projects.

Florida's WPA roll now has about 43,000 persons listed, or about 5,000 more than the quota for other states of Florida's class, he explained. The cut is expected to reduce the rolls about 20 percent.
