A Noble Record.—Major Wilson, Paymaster of the U. S. Army, a few days since, paid James Curtiss, a private of company H, 1st Missouri regiment, the sum of $722.50, being the balance due him for a little over four years service in the army. Curtiss is fifty-eight years of age, has never been sick until recently, and was then only a short time in the hospital. He had six sons, ten sons-in-laws, and one grand son in the army, who were all with Sherman, and are all living.— History furnishes but few examples like that of James Curtiss.—[Springfield Jour. 31st ult.
