TEAMS TO STOP BROOKLYN

Columbus, Ohio...

Top brass from several teams particularly the Giants, Cardinals, Redlegs and the Cubs met to try to "Stop Brooklyn" by strengthening their own clubs to prevent a Brooklyn runaway next year.

The Giants are convinced that they can give Brooklyn its biggest opposition, though there are many who see it otherwise. They are refusing to even trade with the Dodgers stating: "Why should we help them and we would be helping them if we were to give them any of our players."

The Cubs, Cardinals and the Redlegs claim they will trade with Brooklyn and any other club to get help and prevent the Dodgers from making shambles again of the National League.
