The Choctaw Indians, in consequence of the severe law in the state of Mississippi, by which the chiefs and captains of the nation are forbidden to execute the laws of the nation under penalty of a fine of $1000, and twelve months' imprisonment, in a national council on the 16th of March, after full debate, resolved to emigrate, provided a liberal arrangement for that purpose can be made with the government of the United States. Mr David W. Haily on the 18th set out for Washington, with the proposition of the Council, to the government of the United States.
