WHICH WAS PLACED IN THE FIELD BY THE DEMOCRACY OF ILLINOIS. AT SPRINGFIELD. YESTERDAY.
A dispatch received at this office late last night, announced that the following gentlemen had been selected to carry Illinois for the Democratic party in the coming campaign:
For governor, Trumbull.
For lieutenant-governor, Parsons.
For secretary of state, Oberly
For treasurer, Butterworth.
For auditor, Stookle
For attorney-general, Harman, of Peoria
The governor, lieutenant-governor and secretary were nominated by acclamation and the proceedings were entirely unmarked by any dispute or inharmony.
The ticket, as will be seen, is the strongest the Democracy has had in the field since the war and will not fail to bring out the full strength of the party With it, victory is certain to reward the party in this state.
