The Sloop Dove, Capt. Bell in 18 Days from St. Croix, on the 13th instant, in Lat. 31, Long. 70 fell in with two French Ships bound from Cape-Francois to Old France, who fired a Shot, brought her to, and ordered her to send her Boat on board, but finding she did not readily obey, one of the Ships hoisted out her own Boat, and sent her on board the Sloop with a Letter for a Merchant in this City, and after demanding of the Sloop the Latitude and Longitude they were in, dismissed her to proceed on her Voyage.
