FOR FARMERS TO REPORT
CONSERVATION PRACTICES
County Agent Harry J. Brinkley, who is also Secretary for the County Committee of Hernando County Production and Marketing Administration, states that January 15 is the absolute deadline for filing farm performance reports on conservation practices carried out in 1950. "Unless a report has been made by that date," adds Guy Harris, Chairman of the Committee, "payments cannot be made to the farm, regardless of the amount of practices carried out. It is solely the producers responsibility to file the application for payment."
Farmers filing reports should bring invoices or receipts if at all possible, for seed, lime and fertilizer used. Affidavits may be used for home-produced seed. Measurements must be furnished for new ground taken in.
"The only way Hernando county can secure an increase in fund allocations is to overrun the current allocation," said Brinkley, "We have done that for the past few years and it would be nice to do so again. That way, we gain attention from the higher levels," he concluded.
