Full Text

Our corrupt Police.-Sparks, the officer, has been stricken from the rolls of the Sessions Court, for what the court considers lying, and disgraceful, not to say dishonest conduct; conniving with thieves and rogues, and turning them loose to plunder the community without law, leave, or license from any one.

This is a good beginning. In the name of the community we thank the court and the District Attorney for their upright conduct on this occasion. It is high time that the whole system of our police was changed; it is corrupt and rotten. The atrocities of the stool pigeon system should be put a stop to. Sparks' partners ought to share his fate; and so ought the magistrates who have sanctioned this outrageous system for so many years. Let us have a change, a reformation, a purifying of that Augean stable, called the police office.
