The Snow a Boon to 1930 Farming
As this is written there is a blanket of snow covering a greater part of the State of Arkansas. The snow in some manner tends to enrich the available soil nitrogen. It would be very interesting to know just how this is done but it is sufficient in most cases to know that it does and that if we will exercise reasonable care in the handling of our soils during the early spring and summer some of this plant food nitrogen will still be available for the growing plants. Early plowing or disking will help to preserve that nitrogen.
