About two hundred adult students of McDowell county are expected to attend the annual literary pilgrimage and commencement program for adult students of 12 Western North Carolina counties at McCormick field in Asheville June 2. Congressman Weaver, Dr. L. R. Alderman, national director of the emergency education program of the WPA, George Coan, state director WPA. are among the speakers of the day.

"My Country," a historical pageant, will be presented by the students. This will show the highlights of our country's early days as well as tell something of the constitution and present day affairs.

A group of Clinchfield students will represent McDowell county in this pageant. Their scene is a portrayal of the landing of Columbus.
