GENERAL MEETING
OF WOMAN'S CLUB
HELD YESTERDAY

At Which Time Officers For Ensuing Year Were Elected Mrs. R. B. Cody Chosen President.

Mrs. Boyd Weese, Retiring President Gave Report of Activities During Past Year.

At a general meeting of the Woman's Club held at 3:00 p. m. on Monday, March 21, in the Auditorium of the Y. M. C. A. the following officers for the year ending April 1, 1928 were elected: President, Mrs. R. B. Cody; Vice President, Mrs. G. N. Wilson; 2nd Vice President, Mrs. D. B. Macomber; Secretary, Mrs. Charles E. Albert; Treasurer, Mrs. M. N. Wilson; Corresponding Secretary, Mrs. W. V. McIntire; Auditor, Miss Eula Jackson; Press Agent, Mrs. C. B. Whetsell.

A number of letters, including one from Governor Gore, were read by the secretary.

A letter of invitation to attend the District Meeting of Federated Clubs at Fairmont, May 17-18 urged every woman to avail herself of the opportunity to hear Mrs. Penneybacker's address on International Relationships on the evening of the 17th.

Mrs. Boyd Weese, the retiring President, whose zeal and ability have helped greatly to make the club such an efficient factor in community service, gave the following resume of what she considered the best activities of the club during the two years of her administration. Increasing membership 50 per cent; Increased funds from $1200 in the treasury two years ago to a total of $13000 at the present time; Department work. Four departments where there were none; Publication of Year Book; Entertainment of State Convention; Two Flower Shows; Flowers on vacant lots; Public Musicals; Community Sings; Community Tree; Monthly Literature and Art Department Program. Contribution to the scholarship fund through which fourteen young women are being educated in the state. Dr. Jones' lecture to High School Girls Music Week.

Health Department: Public Clinic in County in which 1411 children were examined; Public School Nurse; $100 for Dental Equipment in Schools; Fly Campaign; One week of nurse spent in 4-H camp where 47 members were taught First Aid; Lunches served to 72 undernourished children in schools.

Funds derived from Christmas Seals with other collections totaling $2260.00 in the two years.

As most to be desired for the future Mrs. Weese Mentioned Full Time Nurse in County; More Cooperation in civic work; Payment of dues promptly; More encouragement and less criticism.

After the program a pleasant social hour was enjoyed during which tea and cake were served.
