Mesa, Arizona, in the Valley of the Sun, which has gained fame as the Montana winter capitol, played host to more than 2,000 Treasure Staters and former Montanans on Sunday, Feb. 1, when it was the scene of the eighteenth annual Montana Association picnic.
Sunshine, entertainment and barbeque chicken served up by the Mesa Junior Chamber of Commerce played an important role in the get-together of the largest of all state groups to assemble in Arizona.
Residents and former residents of Blaine county attending the event were Mr. and Mrs. Bud Steffensmeir and Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Christensen of Billings; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hanson, all of Harlem; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rasmussen, Mr. and Mrs. Max Jess, Mr. and Mrs. Severt Munson, and Oscar Boel, ten, all of Chinook; Nellie Joslin of Hays; Mr. and Mrs. T.
