Full Text

The following is said to be the plan of the supporters of Mr. Wilkes, with regard to the next election of a member for the county of Middlesex. Mr. Wilkes is to be continued in the light of a candidate until the election: If at that time the sheriff does not refuse to receive votes for him, and no other person shall be put up as a candidate, he will continue his pretensions, and necessarily be returned; but if the sheriff does refuse to admit him as a candidate, or any other person shall be set up by the Ministry against him, he will decline, and Sir J D, or some other person, will be nominated by the freeholders in Mr. Wilkes's interest, and in all probability chosen.
