Full Text

A little before noon to-day Chas. Woodruff, one of the painters at work on the east side of the Opera House, while adjusting the rope fastenings to the scaffold upon which he was working, failed to securely fasten it, or let the rope slip out of his hand, letting one end of the scaffold drop, throwing him to the ground. He was picked up and taken into Speidell's drug store and Drs. McKee, Carter and Truesdale were called. He had several bruises on his head and back, and it is thought by one of the doctors that his shoulder blade is fractured, but none of his wounds are considered dangerous. The height from which he fell is about 30 feet. He lives on the corner of 4th avenue and 13th street and is an industrious, respectable man.
