FARLEY GIVES PEP TALK AT STEAK DINNER

PHILADELPHIA. Oct.—Democratic National Chairman James Farley, speaking before more than 3,000 people, who paid $100 each for a steak dinner, called for "party loyalty" and said Republicans have chosen Pennsylvania as their "special battle ground" in the November elections. Farley called attention to the fact that many states are balloting in November in "national election" and declared if Republicans are able to win even a partial victory "they will parade it as proof that the New Deal is waning." He declared Republicans are striving to get enough candidates elected to Congress "to make trouble."
