It appears by the Richmond Compiler, of the 10th inst. that this disorder is fast abating. Four of the eminent physicians of that place had formally contradicted a rumor which had got afloat that it had made its appearance there-and the Compiler says, " it had been in our minds that all danger in the county of Chesterfield is supposed to have completely vanished." About forty five persons took the disease in that county, only two of whom (one adult and one child) died. It cannot be ascertained what direction has been taken by the Indians (with the exception of the one who has recovered in Chesterfield, but it is said that one of them died a few weeks ago in Prince Edward.
Since the above was in type, an Indian arrived in the neighborhood of this place, which at first occasioned some unnecessary alarm. He is the same who had the small pox so badly in Chesterfield, but was perfectly cured before he left that place. He left the hospital in that county, on the 6th, having been regularly discharged, as in perfect health, by Dr. Woodbridge, the hospital physician, whose discharge he carries with him to allay any apprehension that might be otherwise created.
