From Havana.—We mentioned yesterday a report from Havana, via Providence, that preparations are making for the descent of a Spanish force upon Mexico. The Boston Commercial Gazette of yesterday says, this intelligence is corroborated by the following letter from Havana, dated the 2d inst.

"HAVANA, June 2d.—Reports as to an expedition to Mexico have been a long time in circulation here and the arrival of the Correo, in a short passage from Cadiz, has confirmed these expectations beyond a doubt. In the Correo came passenger Brigadier General Barradas, Colonel of the regiment de la Corunna, at present situated in this city; in consequence of his arrival, and various warlike indications, on the part of the Government, there are a great variety of reports in circulation. The determination to fit out an expedition is universally accredited here, and the object of B. G. Barradas' visit, is, it is said, to make arrangements with the Governor to join the expedition with 5000 troops from this Island—and vessels have already been chartered for the purpose. The point of disembarkation is not precisely known.

An order was yesterday issued from the Intendant, to go into immediate effect, imposing a duty of five dollars per bbl. on Spanish Flour imported in foreign bottoms. Much dissatisfaction is expressed on account of it, and curses both loud and deep, upon the author of this harsh and unjustifiable measure. "To meet the exigencies of the moment,”—and an order is daily expected from Spain to that effect, are the reasons he assigns for enforcing it so suddenly and so rigorously.

Many think an embargo will be laid for a few days, and it is highly probable there will be—should it be the case, it will not continue, we hope, more than a short time.

Lieut. Young, of the Hornet, was recovering."
