EDINBURGH, August 22.

By a letter from Wick, in Caithness, we are informed that there are great quantities of herrings on that coast, and a very fine appearance of a successful fishing. There are seventy boats and two ships employed, belonging to some spirited Gentlemen in that county. The crews of the ships have for several nights running caught from 20 to 24 barrels every night. These are the two first ships employed in this manner on that coast, and we are also informed that these are the only two belonging to Scotland on the bounty this season.
