Hobo King Gets
Judas Reward

CHICAGO, Jan. 3-(INS)-At the age of 78 "Hobo King" Dan O'Brien had a chance to prove himself a hero. He hasn't any medals or citations to show for it, but he does have a canary.

"Hobo King" Dan wasn't riding the rods when his big chance came. He was slumbering serenely in a north side rooming house.

Fire broke out in the night. Dan helped guide a number of women and children to safety--then he saved the rooming house canary.

So grateful was the landlady, Mrs. Kate Sosa, that she presented the bird to Dan as a token of bravery.
