Douglas-Rodeo Federal Aid Project Approved

(From Thursday's Daily)

More good news for Cochise county in the road building line, was received in Tombstone today, when a telegram was received from State Engineer, Thos. Maddock, announcing that the District Federal Engineer at Denver had approved the Douglas-Rodeo Federal Aid project.

At the same time a wire was received by Chairman I. C. E. Adams of the board of supervisors in Bisbee from the State Engineer asking whether or not the highway commission case would be appealed, since he did not desire to get into legal difficulties.

Chairman Adams of the board immediately replied that as far as the board of supervisors was concerned, the judgment of the court would be final and no appeal would be taken on the case.

This means that the work will be started as soon as possible and estimates approved and bids called for as soon as possible under the federal aid act. This makes the third federal aid project under way now in Cochise the first having been between Bisbee and Douglas, the second from Benson to Vail and now the Douglas-Rodeo.

The telegrams of Mr. Maddock and of Chairman Adams, of the board of supervisors, follow:

I. C. E. ADAMS,

Chairman Board of Supervisors,

Bisbee, Arizona.

Please advise if judgment regarding highway commission Cochise county final. Have received Federal approval Douglas-Rodeo, but do not desire to co-operate on this work if highway commission action encumbered with legal difficulties.
