The Baron de Thierry was at Otaheite in the beginning of June, still waiting the arrival of the vessels which were to conduct him to New Zealand; should they not arrive by the 1st of August (which will complete a twelve month's residence in that island) he intends returning by the earliest opportunity to Panama, to carry into execution the cutting of the Isthmus, it being his determination to sacrifice every other object to the active prosecution of a work which promises such immense advantages to the commercial world.
