Most Criticism of Board Since War Has Come From That Section

From The Republican's Washington Bureau

Washington, Sept. 20—President Coolidge is understood to have selected a western man for governor of the Federal Reserve board to succeed D. R. Crissinger of Ohio, who recently resigned to enter private business here. It is from the West that the chief criticism of the Federal Reserve board has come since the war, first and chiefly because of charges that it instigated or assisted the inflation of agriculture and more recently because of its action in compelling the Chicago Federal Reserve bank to make operative in its district a discount rate acceptable to the bank.
