Full Text

Russian North America. On our second page, will be found an interesting description of the territory which Russia proposes to cede to the United States for $7,000,000. Recent travelers from that region state that it is well worth the money in consequence of its great value as a fishing and mining country, while considered politically alone its acquisition by us would far outweigh that sum, and we hope Congress will accede to the request of Russia and take it off her hands.

P. S.—Hon. Michael Murphy returned from Madison yesterday, and brought us a Chicago Times announcing the ratification of the Russian-American treaty by the U. S. Senate by a vote of 37 against 2.
