FROM WASHINGTON. The Charleston Courier of the 15th inst. says:—

Yesterday being the day for counting the votes for President and Vice President of the United States, both Houses met in convention, and after counting the ballots, made the declaration of Zachary Taylor being elected President, and Millard Fillmore Vice President of the United States for four years from the 4th of March next ensuing:

The number of votes, received having been often reiterated, it is unnecessary to recapitulate them in a Telegraphic despatch.
