Full Text
Within this narrow cell resides the clay
Where once ambition burned within his breast.
How far he travelled since the day
When boyhood's dreams to him lent zest
To make his life fruitful and good,
A monument high to fine manhood.
With patriotism, too, he met his country's call
And bravely served, ready to give his all
For home and kin and native land.
With that courageous and noble band
Of youths destined to gain high place
In life's arduous, never ending race.
Though much in his youth we must regret
His memory green we ne'er shall forget.
Where once ambition burned within his breast.
How far he travelled since the day
When boyhood's dreams to him lent zest
To make his life fruitful and good,
A monument high to fine manhood.
With patriotism, too, he met his country's call
And bravely served, ready to give his all
For home and kin and native land.
With that courageous and noble band
Of youths destined to gain high place
In life's arduous, never ending race.
Though much in his youth we must regret
His memory green we ne'er shall forget.
