Full Text

Gov. Morton, in his speech at Indianapolis a short time ago, made the following statement in summing up the work of the present Democratic House:

With a majority of nearly two-thirds in the House, they have wholly failed for eight months to produce any plan, scheme of relief, or policy upon the subject of currency, banking, tariff or any other economic question. While abusing everything that exists, they produce nothing, can suggest nothing. They have displayed imbecility, incapacity, and stupidity of thought and conception heretofore unknown in the history of parties. They have shown strong predilections for the detective business, but have done nothing to elevate its character or remove the suspicion that naturally attaches to it. Utterly unable to build themselves up, they seek to pull others down.
