THE RETURN.

The tankers, the freighters, the cargo boats
are coming back.

a little wearily, still with the trappings of war upon them,
but happily, its voyagers would return
from a far place.

And there is the sparkle of their
myriad white lights
strung gem-like against the harbor
beacon once more,
the accompaniment of whistling to
the hammer chipping paint.

bent to saltier rolling for the
sailor only dan,
and it must the songs that men
won't come away from homes
