That he Will Speak for the Peoples'
Party.

THOMPSON, Conn., August 13.-Judge W. Q. Gresham and wife have been the guests of J. W. Doane, of Thompson, Conn., since last Wednesday. This afternoon Judge Gresham made the statement to a reporter that he would deliver no speeches during this campaign.

When asked concerning the truth of the Indianapolis special to a Boston paper, in which Chairman Stoll claimed that the Judge would take the stump, Judge Gresham replied that he had not known Mr. Stoll, and had no communication or correspondence with him, and that the first news was the answer to cover his reply as the contents of the Indianapolis dispatch. He declined to discuss the platform and principles of the Peoples' Party.
