KRUMM IN A PECK OF TROUBLE.
His Patients and Creditors Swoop
Down on Him.

Dr. A. W. Krumm, who was arrested
day before yesterday on a charge of ille-
gally practicing medicine and was dis-
missed in the city courts on his payment
of the costs in the case, finds the road of
an unlicensed disciple of Aesculapius a
hard one to travel.

In addition to his having had to pay
$28.50 in settlement of F. W. Huber's claim
against him of $30 for ineffectual medical
treatment, other trials beset him yester-
day. Huber's claim took the shape of a
warrant for the illegal practice of medi-
cine, which consisted in the doctor's doing
business without being duly registered
and not having a diploma as a medical
graduate.

The medico and his wife had got ready
to leave the city, and had their worldly
effects packed up and at the freight house
of the Georgia and Alabama railroad. The
stuff was shipped in the doctor's wife's
name. The marking showed "Mrs. Dr. A.
W. Krumm," and in another place, "Mrs.
Dr. A. W. Cromb," both having the des-
tination Detroit, Mich., indicated.

Other erstwhile patients of Dr. Krumm
saw the account in yesterday's Morning
News of Huber's success in his proceed-
ings against him and followed suit. The
result was two processes on the claim of
unsuccessful medical treatment and an-
other from a ticket scalper, who claims
that the doctor cost him the sale of a tick-
et to Atlanta or $6.50. An attachment was
taken out in Justice Bevan's court. This
was for $31, and was taken out by Charles
R. Ladeveze. Justice Wickham was also
called on to issue a bail in trover for a
bicycle in the doctor's possession by S. R.
Cook. Cook claims that he went to the
doctor to secure his professional services.
The doctor entered into a contract with
him to make him a well man. In lieu of
the cash the patient did not have, the doc-
tor took his bicycle, which was to be re-
stored on the payment of a stipulated sum
in the event the treatment was effective
and gratuitously in case it was not. The
wheel, which is in good condition and a
late model, was found at the depot, mark-
ed for shipment to Detroit. It is now in
Justice Wickham's possession.

On the process issued before Justice
Bevans two boxes of household goods, a
trunk, judged from its weight to be filled
with surgical instruments, and a woman's
bicycle were attached. They are all at
the justice's office now. Harry Karger
took out an attachment in Justice Nath-
ans' court to recover the price of his
ticket, the limit of which had expired
through the doctor's failure to return for
it, as he had said he would. He will get
a whack at the doctor's effects also.

Justice Bevans says he believes others
will turn up with grievances against the
doctor, and aspersions on his medical
ability. Reports have it that this is not
the first trouble Krumm has encountered
on account of his being unprovided with
a diploma. It is said he was arrested in
Cincinnati on a similar charge as that
made against him here. This report came
direct from Cincinnati. Detective Weath-
erhorn asked Krumm day before yester-
day if he were not wanted in Cincinnati.
The doctor replied that he was not want-
ed anywhere. Mrs. Krumm left yester-
day for Augusta, but the doctor did not
leave.
