Office of the St. Augustine Herald, Thursday, Nov. 8.

Shipwreck. - The brig Montpelier, Capt. Winchell, from Savannah, bound to Kingston, Jamaica, with a cargo of lumber, went ashore about 10 miles North of Cape Canaveral, on the 27th of Oct last. Captain and crew saved; vessel and cargo entirely lost. The captain, four men, and one passenger, arrived here in the long boat, on the 5th instant, having left three men at the wreck who refused to come, thinking the boat not safe. Capt. W. says that the beach is strewed with wrecked goods of every description, and from appearances, great injury has been sustained among the shipping during the late heavy gale.
