THE rabbit jumps where the berries brown,
And it's fishing time in Georgy;
The lazy river wanders aroun
Where it's fishing time in Georgy
The willow trembles o'er the foamy stream
The sun sprinkles in a beamy beam,
Catfish biting' through the heart of a dream,
And it's fishing time in Georgy:
Little feller yonder with his bare foot toes,
It's fishing time in Georgy
An' everybody in the settlement knows
It's fishing time in Georgy
Ol' lady got the carpet to beat,
The wood to chop en see that we eat,
For I'm campin' in the swamp where the water sings sweet:
