Murder.—A murder was committed in the neighborhood of Cherry alley, Philadelphia, on Saturday night week. A man, somewhat intoxicated, entered a grocery store in that vicinity and demanded liquor, which being refused, he became noisy, and the keeper of the store attempting to force his visitor to retire, the latter knocked him down, and stamped upon him until he was extinct. The name of the person who was murdered was Absalom Davis, who kept a Grocery Store and Tavern at the corner of Schuylkill Eighth street and Cherry alley.
