Sherman Monument.

WASHINGTON, May 14.—Designs from American sculptors for an equestrian statue of General W. T. Sherman, to be erected in Washington, are awaiting the action of a committee appointed to make a selection, to-morrow being the day named for that purpose. Three of the models are already in place and the fourth will be ready when the committee is. General Miles of the Statue Committee is in the city, but the other two members, Secretary Lamont and Senator Lodge, are not expected here before Monday next.
