On Wednesday the 24th ult. being the festival of St. John the Baptist, divine service was celebrated in the Church, in this town---and was attended by a very numerous and respectable number of citizens and strangers, as well as by the ancient and honorable fraternity of free and accepted Masons, clothed in the badges of their order.---A Sermon was preached on the occasion by the Rev. Mr. Ogden, from 133 Psalm, 1st verse, Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.---The excellent manner in which the vocal and instrumental music was performed, in the chantings, an anthem, psalms and other pieces, was such as did honor to the solemnities of the occasion, and received the highest encomiums from all.
