Loss In July
While there were 12 fires in the city of El Centro last month, the total loss suffered by them was estimated by Fire Chief Reams not to exceed $50. The chief's record shows only 12 alarms were turned in to the station during the past month.
As indicated by the small amount of damage done, none of the fires was serious, and although July 4 celebrations are ordinarily considered as a dangerous period for fire departments, the calls received by the firemen during that period were negligible as to damage done.
