ST. PHILIPS CHURCHNEWS

Flowers on the altar Sunday were in memory of Mayme White, given by her husband Ferston White.

Mrs. A. M. Butler attended the Council of Girl Friendly Society leaders held at Gethsemane Episcopal church, Minneapolis, last Tuesday. The GFS of our parish meets every Saturday at 11:30 in the Undercroft. Girls from 6 to 14 years of age are eligible.

The Guild of St. Monica will have a special meeting next Thursday, Oct. 27, 8:30, at the home of Mrs. James Griffin, 587 Rondo.

The Women's Auxiliary met Thursday at the home of Mrs. Arthur J. Todd, 878 Rondo.

The Guild of St. Monica wishes to thank those who helped make their second monthly Coffee Sip a financial success. Committee in charge of arrangements were Mesdames Abram Goodloe, Ollie Grantham and LeRoy Coleman.

Last Sunday was designated as "Youth Day" in the Episcopal church. In keeping with the trend, the youth group of our parish made their corporate Communion at the 11 o'clock service. In place of Rev. Williams's sermon, Miss Katherine Coram gave a report of her observation abroad and Miss Pearl Mitchell reported on the San Francisco convention from which she recently returned.

At 4 p.m. the group sponsored a tea in the Undercroft.

Please remember church services are now being held at the regular time--8 and 11 A. M.

The Guild of Our Lady will meet Thursday, Oct. 27 at the home of Mrs. Russell Gale, 852 St. Anthony avenue.
