Full Text

Mr Serjeant HILL, (says a London paper) that highly distinguished and venerable sage, indignant at the unqualified charge brought against this country by the French government of having been partisans and accomplices in the alleged assassination plot lately discovered in France, has written to the Lord Chancellor, urging the necessity of an immediate and formal contradiction in Parliament of the charge: and has also addressed himself to the Attorney General and Mr. Fox upon the subject. The whole object of the learned serjeant is, that the British people should stand clearly acquitted from so foul an aspersion: and we are persuaded, there will be no difficulty in satisfying him and the world of the falsehood of the charge, and the infamy of the accusers.
