IMPORTANT
Boston, Oct. 4.—By letters received by the Barbara, just arrived from St. Petersburg, we have the pleasing information that Charles Pinckney, Esq. Secretary of Legation to our minister at that court, had taken passage on board the Gen. Jackson, which vessel sailed for New York a few days previous; bearing despatches to our government, conveying the decision of His Imperial Majesty in our favour on that article of the treaty with England, which was referred to him relating to the reimbursement of our citizens for the slaves taken by the British from the Chesapeake during the war.
