Bills authorizing the expenditure of $58,500 in public works improvements for St. Thomas are under consideration by the Legislature.

Funds in the amount of $25,000 are required for the continued covering of open drains in Charlotte Amalie and $15,000 is earmarked for surveys, plans and specifications for a proposed scenic roadway leading along the hills from Ross Estate through the new road at Hospital Ground, connecting with the road at Lytton Fancy and Agnes Fancy, westerly connecting with the Frenchman Hill-Solberg Road.
A second bill would authorize $8,500 for the installation of proper lighting systems in Emancipation Garden and Roosevelt Park and the paving of sidewalks at Roosevelt Park.
