IN NEW ORLEANS OR ALBANY.
Washington, Jan. 8. If you're tired of life, go to New Orleans, La. or Albany, N. Y. Census statistics for 1911 show that the chance of death in these two municipalities is greater than in any other cities of more than 100,000 population. Both had a rate of 20.4 per 1,000. If life looks good, Seattle, Wash., is a good bet. It had the lowest death rate 8.8 per thousand.
New Hampshire led the state group of 23 states registered with a 17.1 rate as against Washington's minimum of 8.9.
Fall River and Lowell, Mass., cotton mill cities, showed the highest death rates of children under one year of age - more than 200 per 1,000 population.
The suicide rate was the most popular in San Francisco; the violent death rate was highest in Memphis, with Scranton, Birmingham, Albany and Boston following in order.
