RICE FIELDS AT THE FAIR

D. Howard Hitchcock is completing an immense painting of a Palama rice field for use in the Hawaiian exhibit at the Yukon Exposition in Seattle. It is 12 by 16 feet in size and is designed to form a striking background for the rice display. It is a faithful portrayal of the Palama rice fields as they are to be seen from seaward, with the Nuuanu gap at the back. Mr. Hitchcock has done some of his best rough work on the painting and is proud of it.

The exhibit for the great fair is now being packed and will go forward in the transport Dix.
