Bishop Frederick Douglass Jordan, who will deliver the baccalaureate sermon to the seniors of Morris Brown College, is a widely known religious leader.
Bishop Jordan was born in Atlanta, Ga. He attended Kittrell A. & T of North Carolina, Howard University: He received his A. B. degree from Northwestern University his B. D. degree was awarded by Garrett Institute of Evanston, Ill., he did graduate work at Northwestern and Chicago Universities and was given the honorary degree of DD by Wilberforce University.
BUILDER PREACHER
The noted prelate was ordained to preach at Evanston, Illinois. A great builder and preacher, he has pastored St. Paul AME Church, Chicago; Carey Temple, Chicago Bethel of Kansas City; the First AME Church of Los Angeles the First AME Church of Gary, Indiana and many others. At several of these charges the Rt. Rey. Jordan either built a new edifice or paid off a long standing debt.

pastor. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and the organizer of Alpha Mu Chapter. He has held memberships and advisorships: Executive Board of NAACP, Kansas City; Advisor to the International Council on Religious Education; was organizer of the AME Leadership Training School.
WESTERN UNIT
Bishop Jordan has also served as dean and president of Western University and as a member of the Committee on African Affairs.
The bishop was recently assigned to the 5th episcopal district embracing California, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska. Prior to this assignment he served as presiding bishop in Africa.
The Morris Brown Baccalaureate services are scheduled to begin at 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the college gymnasium. Dr. John H. Lewis, president will preside and introduce the speaker, Bishop W. R. Wilkes, presiding bishop of the 6th district (Georgia) will make remarks.
