PORTS M O U T H

The Merits of Free-Masonry Display'd.

From gen'rous Friendship and harmonicus LOVE
Claim their Existence from the Realms above.
Then, hail ye virtuous Minds the Secret Charm
Of MASONS ART. which both these Passions warm.
The MASONS LODGE is built with strong Cement,
Of social Love and Brotherly Consent.
No bold Invader dares to Show his Face,
Or force his Entrance in this Solemn Place,
Where secret Pleasures and unbounded Joys
Triumphant reign. exempt from vulgar Noise
Each Brother's free Consent must be obtain'd.
Before Admittance in the LODGE is gain'd,
And that alone by Characters untain'd.
The Fiat once declar'd, the Mystery can
Be then reveal'd to that thrice happy Man,
Whose Heart elated with its new Possession
O'erflows with LOVE beyond Expression.
