S. but upon what authority we know not ;-he is to have one servant and his own cook His letters are to be opened by the governor. He is not to be landed till a house is fully prepared for his reception He is to be permitted to exercise himself in any field sport of which the Island will admit, but is constantly to be attended by an officer and two orderly men, who are to shoot if he attempts to escape, and is beyond the reach of their hands He is only to be allowed such a sum of money as he may be in want of for common occasions;and finally, the French government is to be wholly at the expence of supporting him."

Major Fehrszen of the 23d regiment, is to have the immediate care of Bonaparte, in the Island of St Helena. The Major speaks the French, Italian, & Corsican languages, with facility and elegance.
