POLITICAL SITUATION BEGINNING TO WARM UP.

It Is Believed That There Will Be Many Candidates This Year.

With the Democratic primaries more than two months off, local politics are already beginning to simmer and it is stated about the city, that within the next several weeks number of avowed candidates for county offices will be announced.

John L. George, well known attorney of this city stated yesterday that he would be a candidate for county attorney subject to the action of the Democratic primaries.

Frank L. Cihron in the present incumbent and it is not known whether or not he will again make the race.

J. Baldwin of Kingsville is another candidate who has cast his hat into the political arena.

Mr. Baldwin while in the city last week stated that he was in the race for the office of sheriff.

Sheriff M. J. Wright will without doubt be a candidate for re-election to this office.

Other entries for various offices are expected to be forthcoming during the month of February.
