The Late Snow-Storm In New-England.—The late snow-storm was the severest experienced in New England for many years. Snowdrifts of 10 to 20 feet were very common, particularly along the sea-coast where the storm was more severe than inland. Old Colony, South Shore, New-Bedford and Taunton, Fairhaven, Eastern (from Salem to Newburyport), Milton Branch Railroads were blocked up all day Friday, and some of them did not get into good running order even on Saturday. At Ipswich there was a drift 200 rods in length, and 20 feet deep, on which over 100 men worked 24 hours without cutting through. Several engines on various roads were thrown from the track, by the snow becoming pressed down as firm as ice.

The storm was more severe than inland.
