Ex-Sheriff Paul, of Arizona, one of the posse that killed the Stein's Pass train robbers in Mexico, arrived here to-day and tells the story of the killing. He says that when the robbers found themselves surrounded, they barricaded themselves in a house with a family whom they compelled to remain with them. A charge was made on the house and a Mexican sergeant was killed. The posse then cut a hole in the wall and let out the family and then set the building on fire when the robbers came out firing. Hart was shot dead and Sheehan was shot in the neck in the doorway. Sheehan then returned into the building. Johnson continued to advance until he fell riddled with bullets. He raised himself up and fired another shot before he died. Sheehan was found sitting upright in the house dead, his clothes were nearly all burned off of him. Only $600 and some jewelry was recovered. Sheriff Paul thinks that the robbers buried their booty in the building. He says that Marshal Mead's arrest probably saved his life, as he would no doubt have been ambushed.
