PRICE OF CIGARETTES RAISED BY SWEDEN

(By Associated Press.)

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, April 16.--The state tobacco monopoly has again increased the already high price of cigarettes. Cigarettes formerly costing 11-3 cents apiece, about the cheapest cigarette that even the non-particular smoker can endure, now cost 17-8 cents, and the increase of the dearer brands is considerably greater. Reasons given are the great increase in the price of raw materials and the great difficulties experienced in obtaining cigarette tobacco.
