Pittsburg Landing, May 17, 1862
A. J. Barnett and Edward Housel, Davenport:
Fit up a hospital for five hundred wounded: or more: It will be filled up at once,

A dispatch was immediately sent back to Mr. Gifford, telling him to send along three hundred and they will be provided for.
It will be seen from this that our citizens have got some work on their hands which must be attended to promptly, as the patients will probably be here in a week or less.
